Top Four Verses Taken out of Context

Jeremiah 29:11

look at the verse before, it actually talks about being in exile.

It even says after 70 years in Babylon that God will visit His people. Now, God does have a plan for all of His own, but its a good rule of thumb not to try and apply verses to yourself or your situation, that should maybe applied elsewhere.

Luke 11:9

...ask and it will be given to you-(yes, as long as its in God's will!)

Praying is not like putting your request in, pulling the lever and watching the answer pop out. It's about praying in the will of God and accepting any answer He gives.

Phillipians 4:13

You don't become superman when you're saved!

When the Apostle Paul wrote this, he was more talking about being content in your situation, being able to to endure anything that he was tested with.

Matthew 24:40

Yes some will be taken but....

Rather than the Rapture, this verses talk about those being taken away in judegment. Look at the context, it talks about those being swept away in the times on Noah- those outside the Ark certainly weren't blessed- and nether are those who are swept or taken in this verse!
